Vocational Classes
Thunderbird cadets will have the opportunity to learn and explore different trades through our partnership with Northeast Tech. This invaluable relationship allows cadets to expand their potential and introduce them to new career paths.
Community Service
As a part of the National Guard Youth Challenge Program, every cadet will complete a minimum of 40 volunteer community service hours. However, they don’t stop there. Cadet’s continue long after 40 hours, learning to give back and help the communities that have given to them.
Mentors

131 tried out, and 47 made the cut. Congratulations to all the resilient, determined cadets who made TAC Titans.
TAC Titans is a group of hardworking leaders at Thunderbird Challenge Program. To make the team during Phase 1 is a feat – during a lengthy physical aptitude test, the TACs lead cadets through a series of intensive challenges meant to assess cadets’ teamwork, commitment , and mental fortitude.
The elite group of individuals who make it through are official members of the team until Phase 2 at week 13. At Phase 2, members must have earned the rank of Sergeant to keep their status, which promotes good grades, good behavior, and overall excellence. At this point, cadets who want to try out again may do so if they have been promoted to Sergeant, and obtain a sponsorship from an existing member.
The goal of TAC Titans is to cultivate a community of like-minded leaders who are adaptable, take initiative, display courage, and exhibit strength, in order to further develop these qualities in themselves and build up others in their platoons. These cadets get extra leadership opportunities, intense physical training, and additional coaching and support from our TACs.

Over the weekend, the whole company had fun attending a hockey double header at BOK Center, watching OSU v. OU Bedlam on Ice, and the Tulsa Oilers v. Rapid City Rush game!
