CYCLE 58 GRADUATION

May 25, 2022/News

Cycle 58 Graduation

It’s finally here. Graduation. After 20 weeks of hard work and determination, Cycle 58 will walk across the stage on June 4 at the Burdick Center in Pryor. The cadets will be honored with the Keynote Speaker, Representative Markwayne Mullin, US District 2.

These Cadets have mastered self discipline, maximized their potential, and have been molded into leaders.  Their dedication to the Eight Core Components of Thunderbird Challenge Program has helped to lay the foundation for productive and successful lives.  The Cadets have been given the tools to achieve academic excellence, job skills, life coping skills, and leadership and followership.  They were challenged on their physical fitness as well as learning how to care for their personal health and hygiene. Each Cadet will have completed, at the minimum, 40 hours of community service at the time of graduation. They also were given instruction on how to be responsible citizens.

While their time at Thunderbird was full of hard work and determination, the Cadets were also treated with some fun trips.  They enjoyed some weekend getaways to Camp Gruber and Camp Christian. They also took in some sporting events with the Tulsa Oilers, Tulsa Drillers, and even a University of Tulsa and Oklahoma State University softball game.  Several more fun trips and activities are still to come over the next couple of weeks.

Thunderbird Challenge Cycle 64 Graduation

Congratulations to our graduates: You've proven that with dedication and the right support, any obstacle can be overcome. Your families, instructors, and entire community are incredibly proud of what you've accomplished.

Each graduate represents a success story of determination and personal growth. They entered as candidates seeking direction and leave as confident young leaders ready to make their mark on the world.

We are thankful that at this graduation, we were honored to have two outstanding leaders address our graduates:

Major General Thomas H. Mancino, Adjutant General for Oklahoma, shared his wisdom and experience with our cadets. As Oklahoma's top military advisor to the Governor and leader of the Oklahoma National Guard, General Mancino brought valuable insights about service, leadership, and commitment to our ceremony.

Senator Ally Seifried (R-Claremore) inspired our graduates with her message about civic engagement and making a positive impact in their communities. As a proud ninth-generation Oklahoman and advocate for Oklahoma's youth, Senator Seifried's words resonated deeply with our graduating class.

Congratulations once again to our graduates and thank you to General Mancino and Senator Seifried for their inspiring words and continued support of Oklahoma's youth!
